Player Reaction - Gold Medal

Canada

After becoming World Men's Curling Champions 2012, Canada skip, Glenn Howard, said:

"Personally I won the first one twenty-five years ago and this one’s just as special, maybe more so.

"I can’t give enough praise to my team, they’ve been fantastic all year. We hung in there, it wasn’t our “A” game but we got it done with a 'B+' game and Brewster and the boys threw everything at us. We were a little fortunate.

"He threw a good shot in ten and it didn’t curl – I don’t know why. I It just feels great to win. I was worried watching it in ten and if he makes it, it’s game over and he’s the world champion.

"This win feels special, they get more special. I don’t think I’ll be getting back.

"It wasn’t our best game, the ice was fantastic. God, it feels good, it feels sweet."

Scotland

After losing to Canada, Scotland skip, Tom Brewster, said:

"I thought we were the better team, I really did. I thought we played some great curling.

"A bad three and then an inch more curl in ten and we’re there. We made big improvements (since last year) on fitness, sweeping and just more experience.

"We’ve had a strong week here and we’ve got a big future. I’m gutted. We lost a bad three with an over-throw on mine, but the guys played really well. That chance in the last just an inch more curl and we’ve won.

"Our team played great – what an effort. Twelve monthd ago we were in the same position and we’re miles better than last year."
